Tracy Weinzapfel's November Challenge

This is my November Challenge... my first challenge with Tracy.

We were asked to choose a color pallet and then paint.. Tracy's theme choice this month is 'Gratitude'.

It was so emotionally difficult for me to participate in this challenge. First, it is my first time showing my work to the group and that alone causes anxiety for me. It took about 4 days to commit to joining in and taking that first step. We aren't talking about digital scrapping here (my comfort zone).

So, out I traveled to Pinterest and found a picture with colors that I just loved. I tried to match them with deco art paints. Of course I had NONE of those colors, so I knew I would have to mix to match. And, I must say that that part of this project went well.

Marching on, however, I painted. The picture is good... my words are true. But, I am such a symmetrical person, I had a hard time letting go and allowing my text to be crooked (what Tracy did intentionally in hers). Why does it look good to me when others do it?

You can see Tracy's painting here:

Well, I put it out on facebook in our group and I received a lot of encouraging feedback. I love these ladies !!!!

So now, I need to upload it to the challenge.

    1. Thank you, Tracy. Your response means a lot. I'm so excited to be a part of this group. Sometimes, I hear you say you might share too much. But, I think your close interaction with these sisters (and some brothers, I hear) is exactly what made me feel comfortable enough to finally have a voice in thus venue. Ok...that and we share a love for doodling :)

  2. Oh I love it! All the detail that you put into your border is just gorgeous and I love the leaves and their placement, and the hearts! I cant wait to see what you will have in store for us each week or month with the challenges! You in no way should be afraid to share your work! It is Beautiful!! Thank you for taking that first step and sharing your work with us! Hugs, Mary

    1. Thank you for your support and encouragement, Mary. I have been watching Tracy from the sidelines for a while now and am so glad I dove into the group head first. I can't always make the Monday evening group live, but if I cant, I always watch the recording. I love the sisterhood I see fostered here and I chuckle at s the bantering between everyone. I am truly enjoying all of the differences in everyones work and I am learning a lot!!! Hugs back!

  3. Oh you are my sister in being "crookedly challenged" I am so like that too. I love it when I see it on other peoples works but have the hardest time intentionally making something crooked! I am soooooooooo glad you are joining us in our challenges, for the most part we are quite harmless...::innocent look::.... waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥
