Weekend Art

Hi Everyone..... and thanks for stopping by to see what I have been working on. I haven't been in the studio for a while. I was in Florida for a couple weeks meeting my new house "The Byrd."

Though it looks like the house has gone to the dogs...haha

I was able to spend much needed time with my family...

My sister flew from NY and spent the entire two weeks with me.
Dinner the last night with my son, DIL.and grandaughter and
my daughter and her BF!

And as you all know, once you get back, you have to settle into real life.

That said, I have been missing the studio as I have watched and envied everyone be creative in my absence.

So, this being a long weekend (Pioneer Day) I was able to spend a whole day in the studio. I had so much fun.

I completed my Frosted Designs project for the August challenge (which I can't share until after the challenge goes online) and then a canvas. This canvas allowed me to try a few techniques that I hadn't used before and capture some elements I have seen other artists use that I LOVED!

Using my Dylusions paints, scrap paper, modeling pasted, stamps and my new Tim Holtz stencils, I layed down a background. Then I drew a flower with gesso.

This was so different from anything I have ever done, that I started to doubt whether I could accomplish the look I was going for.

Believe.... I had to believe that whatever appeared would be GREAT. Either the painting would appeal to me or I would have learned through the process which techniques worked or didn't, or... that I loved or hated the canvas in the end. Simple as that, just believe.

Love it!
